Thanks.

Hi,

It's a very common McKinsey case.

Start by clarifying the objective:

  • How do we define education (undergrad, grad, skills, etc)
  • How do we measure the level of education (Literacy rate? Test results? etc.)
  • What is the current level and what is the desired level

Supposing the criteria is the result of the school tests I will use the following structure:

Developing the skills

  • Content (quality, structure, homework, etc)
  • Tools (Computers, books, etc)
  • Teachers (Education, quality, local / non-local etc)

Motivation

  • Culture in the village and in school (Museums, theaters, exchanges, cultural  and exchange trips to the bigger city, etc)
  • Further education - graduate education opportunities
  • Career opportunities in the town / outside the town
  • Extracurricular activities

Infrastructure & funding

  • School assets (Building, classrooms, sports grounds, IT, etc)
  • Transportation across the village
  • Funding (Federal / state / local funding, Private Sponsors, Non-profits / mentor council, Funding abroad, Private - Parents)

Performance & monitoring

  • Our initiatives
  • KPIs
  • How do we track the performance of kids / teachers / etc

Best
