Back to overview

Hi, I applied for the IT Associate role at BCG Platinion, and it has been almost two months without any update or start of the process. Is this common? Should I stop preparing, or is the process just slow?

Hi,

Processes can sometimes be quite slow, so I wouldn’t read too much into the delay. You can either wait a bit longer or reach out to the recruiting team for an update; it won’t negatively affect your application.

By the way, which office did you apply to?

Best,
Franco

Hi Franco,

Thanks for the clarification.

I applied to the Saudi Arabia office.

Sorry to hear about this.

2 months is a bit too long.

Typically, I recommend candidates to reach out to the recruiter if a month has passed and they haven't heard back.

I would do this now if I were you.

And in the meantime, make sure that you apply broadly to other firms as well. Diversification is key for a good application strategy. You might find this guide useful:

I'd advise you reach out to the recruiter, as I think the ongoing regional war has caused a lot of uncertainty around hiring these days. That's not to say it's stopped, there are a few firms still actively hiring, but I'd double check with your point of contact in HR. Good luck and stay safe.

Hey,
Thank you for your words. Do you think LinkedIn is a good way to contact HR, or is there another recommended approach?

Two months is long but not unusual for BCG Platinion. They move slower than standard BCG.

Do not stop preparing. If the process starts and you are not ready, the wait was wasted.

Send a short follow-up to recruiting this week. Two sentences. Ask if your application is still under review and if there is a timeline. Completely reasonable after two months.

hey there :)

it’s pretty common for BCG Platinion processes to take a while, sometimes 6–8 weeks before anything moves, so don’t stop preparing just yet. often delays are just internal scheduling, not a reflection on your application

best,
Alessa :)
