Hi there,

The HR interview at Orphoz is similar to McKinsey PEI; focuses on motivation, cultural fit, and implementation experience, with a structured but conversational tone.

Expect questions like “Why Orphoz?” to assess your preference for execution over strategy and behavioral questions using the STAR method (e.g., handling resistance to change, leading transformation projects, or managing stakeholders).

To prepare, highlight your ability to drive implementation, work with diverse teams, and align with Orphoz’s hands-on consulting approach. Emphasize past experiences in executing change, problem-solving, and resilience in complex environments.

Happy to help you prep!

Best,

Evelina

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the (presumed) invitation from McKinsey Orphoz!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

  • Contrary to what other coaches have said, the McKinsey Orphoz HR interview seems to be more of a preliminary interview before the actual application process. Therefore, it is typically not structured like a regular McKinsey (Orphoz) interview, but consists of regular personal fit questions about your background and motivation for the role.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey Orphoz interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Dear,

Based on my current knowledge, the interview at Orphoz is very similar compared to the typical MBB interview (part case interview and part behavioral/fit questions).

Let me know if you have specific questions.

From my mentees, I know the interview structure at Orphoz is the same as McKinsey's, including PEI and case interviews. Be also ready to answer "Why Orphoz?" with a strong focus on implementation-driven consulting.

For situation questions, expect classic McKinsey PEI themes: leadership, problem-solving, and personal impact, etc.. If you need support, feel free to reach out! ?

Hi there,

I guess it's a typo and you refer to the HR Interview that comes before the actual case/fit interviews.

If yes, then it's mainly

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why consulting?
  • Why Orphoz/McKinsey
  • How do your experiences align with what we do?
  • What value can you bring to our teams/clients?

Also, prepare some questions for the interviewer beforehand.

Once that is done, it's time for the actual interviews - google Orphoz interview process and you will find a very detailed article at the top, which I authored.

All the best,

Florian

Hey there,

If you're referring to the HR interview at the beginning of the process, a good response to "Why Orphoz" would be delivered around a desire to do longer term implementation projects (as this is what is done there"

The rest of the process would follow similarly to McKinsey's standard interview process

All the best
