Congrats — getting a first round at Roland Berger Middle East is already a good sign.

For the Middle East office, the process is generally quite similar to other strategy firms:

  • fit / personal questions
  • one or more case interviews
  • strong focus on communication and structure

On the fit side, expect classic questions like:

  • Why consulting?
  • Why Roland Berger?
  • Why Middle East?
  • Leadership / teamwork examples
  • Times you handled pressure or ambiguity

For the Middle East specifically, they often pay attention to:

  • maturity
  • communication style
  • whether you can operate in international / client-facing environments

So make sure your answers are:

  • structured
  • concise
  • personal (not generic consulting answers)

On the case side, Roland Berger tends to like fairly classic strategy cases:

  • profitability
  • market entry
  • growth strategy
  • occasionally operations / transformation

For the Middle East, cases are often linked to:

  • public sector / giga-projects
  • infrastructure
  • energy
  • aviation / tourism
  • diversification themes

But fundamentally, they’re still standard consulting cases.

A couple practical tips:

  • don’t overcomplicate frameworks
  • drive the discussion proactively
  • communicate clearly during math
  • always connect insights back to business implications

And honestly, confidence and presence matter a lot in RB interviews. They usually like candidates who can hold a business conversation, not just “solve a case mechanically.”

If you want, feel free to DM — happy to help you prepare or run through a mock.

Congrats on getting the interview. Understand you are new to the process so a quick orientation.
The fit and case interview process is fairly similar across firms especially at the fresh graduate level. They will be testing your motivation (why consulting, why specific firm), communication skills, ability to structure ambiguous problems, and basic analytical and quantitative skills. The cases tend to be standard business problems with some regional context.
Spend some time on the platform and you will get a clearer picture of typical cases and fit questions. Plenty of good resources out there.

Good luck !

hey Alanood!

I would say: keep it simple!!

Fit questions are very standard: walk me through your CV, why consulting, why RB, why the Middle East, plus one short behavioral story about teamwork or leadership. Cases are usually practical and business‑sense driven, market entry, growth, profitability, public‑sector strategy, or basic operations. Nothing overly technical, and the math is clean. They mainly want to see clear structure, calm communication, and that you can think logically.

If you want, I can help you shape a short fit answer or outline a quick RB‑style case.

Congrats on the Roland Berger first round.

Fit questions. Expect why consulting, why RB, why the Middle East. Tie your interest to their actual focus areas in the region, energy, mobility, industrials, and giga-projects. Have one strong leadership story and one honest failure story ready.

Cases tend to be commercially grounded. Common types include market entry into GCC, profitability for energy or industrial clients, and public sector or giga-project cases tied to Vision 2030 or NEOM. Math uses real operational metrics, not abstract profitability.

Read a few public RB reports on the region before the round.

Good luck.

Hi Alanood,

I've worked with many RB candidates and even coached some consultants there so do reach out if you need help.

In terms of prep, I would focus on 3 areas:

  • Motivational questions: tell me about yourself, why consulting, why RB
  • Situational questions: what would you do if your manager said...
  • Story-based questions: give me an example of when you led a team through a difficult moment...

I've also built a tailored personal fit guide that many candidates have found useful. You can find more information about it here:

• • Video Course: Master personal fit

Best,
Cristian
