Having trouble with BCG Casey Prep

Been prepping for the test, and the quant questions seem to be mostly straightforward. The free-form questions are also much like a case.

However, I am struggling with the multiple-answer questions, in particular the first structuring question and other reasoning questions.

On the structuring question, there are so many different ways to structure a case, and it seems like you only get this question right if you structure it exactly the way they do.

On the insight questions, you may argue something in a case interview that has a rationale behind it, but on the Casey test it's wrong.

How to approach these questions?

Hi there,

Q: I am struggling with the multiple-answer questions, in particular the first structuring question and other reasoning questions.

You can categorize the questions in Casey into 5 major types. For each type, you can develop skills to answer correctly the question. It is a bit difficult to answer your question directly as we would need to know the questions you struggled with.

If you want to prepare for the Online Case, I created a software simulation replicating specifically the chatbot and one-way video interview. It also explains how to answer each of the 5 types of questions, including the one related to the initial structure.

It includes the following and more:

  • 4 Casey Software Simulations of the Chatbot. These are live chatbots simulating exactly the same chatbot environment of the test (meaning you will receive questions from an actual chatbot with a flow equivalent to the one of the test).
  • 4 One-Way Video Interviews. These come with Artificial Intelligence reports, so that you can see how the software will perceive your performance in terms of voice, speech clarity, energy and more.
  • 2 PDF Simulations of the Chabot. These are additional tests Casey-style, meaning you will have 6 different Casey Chatbots to train with overall.
  • Free access to 6 PSTs and Potential Tests for further practice.
  • Deep explanation of all the 5 types of questions asked in the BCG Online Case thanks to the complimentary 144-page guide.

You can get access to the software simulation and guide instantly here:

For any questions on the test please feel free to PM me, I will reply within 12 hours.

Francesco

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • I'm afraid there is no other option but to practice, both with real case studies and BCG Casey practice sets.
  • Moreover, especially given that the questions you mentioned are essentially all questions except for the 1/2 free-form questions, I would highly advise you to reach out to a coach who has current knowledge about the BCG Casey.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on authentic BCG Casey sets, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

I'm really sorry, but the genuine best answer is, if you want to optimize improving on this get coaching.

Based on what you have described, I think there is a fundamental problem with your logical reasoning and critical thinking (in the context of a case/casey), because, the statement is “you only get the question right if you structure exactly the way they do”. This is wrong! There is almost always a definitive clear and correct answer. Please invest in a coach ASAP to get to the bottom of what's blocking you!
