Has anyone attended bain amsterdam round one interview

Bain's recruiting process is fairly standardized across offices these days, so I wouldn't expect Amsterdam to be different from other Bain locations.

For the first round, I'd prepare for the classic Bain-style cases: profitability, growth, market entry, pricing, and occasionally due diligence. A typical case includes:

• a brainstorming component,
• one or more exhibits/slides that you'll need to interpret,
• some business math,
• and a final recommendation.

Regarding rescheduling, once for a genuine reason is usually not an issue. However, I would avoid rescheduling multiple times unless absolutely necessary, as you don't want to give the impression that you're not fully committed or prepared.

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

• First of all, I would strongly advise against trying to optimize the preparation effort, besides that it's useless, because there really are no more or less common case study question types. Instead, you should prepare in a way to be ready to solve any case study.
• Moreover, on the rescheduling, doing it one time for a genuine reason is normally fine and nobody will hold it against you. But if you push the date many times, it starts to look like you are not serious about it, so I would advise you to move it only when you really have no other option.

Rescheduling once with reasonable notice is fine and will not hurt your standing. However, doing it multiple times or at the last minute signals poor organization and a lack of preparation. Lock in a definitive date immediately and show up fully prepared.

For Bain Amsterdam, I’d prepare broadly rather than trying to predict specific cases. Profitability, market entry, growth and cost reduction are all worth practicing, with a strong focus on structuring and clear communication.

As for rescheduling, doing it once for a legitimate reason is completely fine. If you keep rescheduling multiple times, it could eventually look less professional, so I’d try to commit to the next slot you choose.
