From to BCN (Private Equity) to Private Equity

Hello everybody,

Is it possible to switch from the Bain Capability Network (PEG) to Private equity firms? Would it be possible to shift to Private Equity after working for a couple of years at BCN.?

Also, can anybody please share their review about Bain Capability Network - Gurugram office (India)?

I have done some research online and have not got any positive reviews. Also, I have spoken to people who are working in the same position and got mixed reviews.

Most of them said it's backend work and the learning curve is pretty flat. I am currently working in a client-facing role and BCN is a support work from what I have heard from people so I doubt it would be good for me to work there.

Anybody from India who is working or was working at BCN can share their insights as that would be extremely helpful to me.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi there,

i don't have expertise/knowledge on BCN PEG India specifically. However, while I would say that it is generally do-able to move from Bain Private Equity focus to industry PE (i.e. through getting the right projects, networking effectively, etc.), if your networks/contacts are telling you negative things about BCN PEG India specifically, I would stay away.

That said, definitely try and hop on calls with people who work there (or, better, who have worked there) and ask pointed/tough questions. This is the best way to get a better understanding of things!

Good luck!

Hello!

Unfortunately I am not very familiar with BCN in particular, let´s hope for some of the coaches who come from Bain to give insights on that.

however, if they are a support group as you say instead of a client-facing team, I wouldn´t change from the role you have atm.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
