Final Round Outcome | What Could Be Happening?

Hi everyone,
I completed the BCG interview process (both first and second rounds) about two months ago. Since then, I’ve received several emails from HR — mostly providing new estimated timelines for when I’d receive feedback (e.g., “within two weeks,” “by next week,” etc.). Only one of these emails was in response to a follow-up I sent myself. However, I still haven’t received any final outcome or clear communication regarding the status of my application.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be going on in a situation like this?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

That is somewhat unusual. Normally for final rounds, they'll give you an answer within a couple of weeks or a month at most.

It's hard to say what is causing the delay, since the process is pretty opaque from the outside. They may have decided to interview more candidates before extending offers, or they might have decided internally to stagger their offers to prevent over-hiring given the market conditions.

The only thing you can do is to follow up periodically and wait - but you will definitely hear back.

Given the length of the delay, it's worth continuing to interview with other firms. Let me know if you need any support.

That's frustrating. I'm sorry to hear.

Sometimes it just takes a while for the interviewers to get together. Busy schedules, vacations and sick leaves get in the way.

Try not to read too much into it. It doesn't have to reflect on you.

Hope you hear back from them soon!
Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

That’s frustrating, I get it. Back in the days this has also happened to me. Turned out both partners went on PTO. Don’t worry about it, it has nothing to do with your performance, but rather with interviewers’ availability to stop what they are doing to focus on it.

Good luck!

Best,

Mari

Hi,

Honestly, besides following up , I'd say once every 2 weeks, try not to worry or concern yourself about this too much.

HR processes take time and it's got NOTHING to do with you as a person.

Follow up once every 2 weeks and concentrate on your life :)

Happy to chat :)
