Final Round

Hello,

2 weeks ago exactly I finish my final MBB interview. The recruiter told me I should hear back by the week after (last week), so far I haven't heard from anyone, I emailed the HR on friday but got no response. I have a standing offer from other firm and have to decide this week if I take it or not.

Should I email the MBB recruiter telling about this offer or this might affect the outcome? If not what should I do?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm sorry you're in this situation, it must be quite frustrating. Definitely get in touch with the recruiter - making them aware of the timeline of your other offer will not affect the outcome, in fact plenty of candidates have such situations each cycle. I would also recommend calling instead of emailing if you can.

Best of luck!

Yes please tell them you have an exploding offer - that will help speed things up.

Hi there,

Absolutely!

If you can call I would. But, regardless, you need to let them know you have an expiring offer on x date and would need to accept if it you don't hear back. Re-iterate to them your interest in their company and that they are your preferred company.

Good luck!

Yes! Politely nudge them (ideally call if you can) and make them aware of another offer and that you have to decide soon. Ask them how much longer it could take at their end but ideally to let you know this week. Avoid “pressure or threatening” tone.

Am assuming you are super keen on the MBB firm, so keep a window open with the current firm to request for more time to finalise your decision should there be a need.

Fingers crossed and all the best! And congrats too :)

Hey there,

Definitely tell them asap. However, best to do it on the phone and not by mail as this would speed things up even more and is also more personal. :-)

Cheers,

Florian

I'd try to call the recruiter asap. You should tell the recruiter about your outstanding offer (and congrats for it!). No downsides for doing so. It will speed things up if anything.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes

Yes you can let them know of the existing expiring offer.

Best to follow-up multi-channel (email/whatsapp/phone) to ensure a prompt reply.

Hopefully they will speed up their process. Most likely the delay would be due to a process hold-up but one can never really say.
