Absolutely they can! Of course, both have to adhere to the confidentially clauses in their contracts (which you have to do regardless as to whether or not your partner/family work in consulting).

Yes, they can. I've seen multiple cases.

Please be aware that you are not allowed to disclose any information regarding project work to relatives or friends (not even the client's name), regardless of them working for competitors or not. This is part of the standard codes of conduct of the consulting firms.

Yes, this is fine.

But family members must observe & maintain highest levels of professionalism , integrity & credibility. No sharing of sensitive information or mis appropriating company resources!

Yes. I have personally seen many such examples. It is not uncommon.

Confidentiality must be maintained though.
