Experienced hire final round for Bain AC North America Not Hearing Back

Question

I interviewed with Bain NE offices last Thursday, but have not yet heard back. Since it's been almost a week now, should I assume it's a rejection? I would usually think so but several people I know who also interviewed did not hear back neither. Is this normal, and should I email them to ask? Thank you!

It's been a week - you are jumping too conclusions too swiftly!

I've had candidates wait on the longer side of a month before hearing back. Trust me, a week is par for the course.

Sit tight, stay patient, and reach out it it's been 2 weeks without any news.

There are so many people asking the same question here. It is not about you it is just a slower process these days given that it is close to the holidays and partners have many other commitments as well this time of year. You will have to be patient and give it till January at the very least.

There have been a flurry of very similar questions in the Q&A forum recently. Patience is what you need. Being keen and eager is good but dont come across as desperate. Focus on giving your best and let things happen.

As other coaches have suggested, reach out them in 2 weeks otherwise wait it out till the new year.

Hi there,

MBB will almost always let you know regardless of the outcome. Most likely they are busy due to the holiday period.

If you don’t hear from them after one week, it is fine to contact HR to ask if they have any updates.

No answer means only that a decision wasn't made yet. Period. It doesn't mean positive nor negative. It doesn't mean higher likelihood of positive or of negative. Just means…no answer yet.

And having to wait one week is perfectly normal. While in some instances you get an answer on the same day, sometimes you wait several weeks for an answer.

Just hang in there and don't sweat. Take the time to prepare for the next round (or for the alternative firms).
