Hello, I've recently gotten an offer form McKinsey middle east. I know in the US and most developed markets mck offers MBA sponsorship, however I was wondering if middle east offices (esp less developed ones) offer top tier MBA sponsorships
No mention of sponsorship was in my offer letter.
I could've asked, but I forgot to do so with my call with HR and ofcourse I accepted and am joining soon. I just dont want to wait for the opportunity to ask essentially.

I would be shocked if they do not (my understanding is that all of MBB sponsor MBAs).
It is not something that would be in an offer letter (especially as it's not a gaurentee). To get sponsored you do have to “earn it”. As in, you need to be a high performer and apply to get sponsored.

They don't mention it on the offer because there's no guarantee of being sponsored.
You have to stay for a couple of years and have a good performance (so they want you back after the MBA as a senior consultant). And in that case you'll need to sign a contract that requires you to return and stay for a few years.
Sponsoring MBAs should be a worldwide policy, so I wouldn't expect any exceptions.

MBB normally sponsor MBAs for top performers, but I guess you will have to clarify the exact conditions for your particular office with HR. Even within the same country, criteria within MBB could be quite different.

MBB do generally offer sponsorship - in most regions.
However, sponsorship slots are limited and highly performance driven. Further, the sponsorship should generally kick-in towards the end of your BA tenure.
So, you'll definitely have a chance at it - just make sure you perform well.

I believe it is not as clear-cut as in other offices, e.g. Germany where McKinsey sponsors 50% + 1 year salary.
They follow a more flexible approach and pick high-performers they want to retain. There is no guarantee and the Middle East is a more dynamic consulting region than most others in terms of hiring, etc.
