Happy Labor Day everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any experience interviewing with PwC's technology or cyber security consulting division? A recruiter just recently reached out to me to see if I was interested in an interview for an internship next summer. I've done a consulting internship before, but my background is mostly in finance/economics/data science, so I'm not too sure why PwC chose to reach out to me specifically for a tech consulting role. I know some basic Python and Stata, but that's because of my economics major. Not sure why they would prefer me over someone with more technical knowledge in IT or computer science. Regardless, tech is still a big interest of mine and I'll still try to shoot my shot. Does anyone know how tech consulting case interviews differ from management consulting case interviews? Thanks a bunch!

Hi,
You should be ready both for the conventional and digital cases. Also, You should be ready to talk about the relevant IT topics (Hint: I recommend reading the articles on the McKinsey / BCG / BIG 4 websites. Search for "agile", "Digital", etc)
Here is a list of potential topics you need to know. It is a full list and looks scary but they test a lot of these concepts depending on the particular role:
- Cloud (cloud vs own servers pro and cons, uptime % SLAs, load balancing, etc)
- Security (encryption basics, password change policy, cloud security and encryption on your computer)
- Agile and development (Agile principles)
- M&A and IT (Will it be one system or two systems? Is it "Adopt and go" approach or we take the best of both systems and create a new one? Integrate now, innovate later? Or Innovate now, when you have time?)
- IT strategy and Digital transformation (Similar to M&A)
- IoT (Mainly the use of IoT in operations - Process steps completion, measuring temperature, maintenance measurements, other measurements, predictive algorithms, etc)
Best,
