CV building

Hi guys,

Multiple posts already, and all the answers have been very helpful. Thank you all.

Im currently preparing for a career in MBB and have 4-6 months of pure prep. from working on cases to building the resume.

I wanted your guys opinion on my cv vaguely and if its worthy enough to enter MBB in the ME.

Current CV:

-Finished medical school at a non target school, average grade of 86/100 with my clinical years of 93/100

-10 research papers/cases w some currently in the process of publication

-Conference attendance and presenting at them

-Compete for my national team, ranked top 300 in the world, sponsored by the leading brand in the sport, w multiple wins and good finishes. Also captained the team for a year.

-Currently launching a startup in MVP phase, but gaining good traction slowly

-Founder of a brand new initiative in the UAE in partnership w a big entity

-Completed my internship of one year at a top hospital in the GCC, with high valuations

-High musical proficiency with certification

-Fluent in Arabic, English, and one more language

Currently adding:

-Learning Python + SQL + Data analytics and doing projects related to healthcare to show practical use, not just theoretical knowledge

-Have done some financial modeling, valuation courses on Coursera

-Doing a full consulting style project on a family business to demonstrate initiative

-Continue scaling startup

Any critiques? anything else I should focus on adding?

I think I covered leadership through my sport activty, and founding the initiative. Covered execution through sport performance and startup performance. covered quant and technical abilities through python.

Any tips to max my cv would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi There,

You absolutely have really impressive experience. I would really focus on how you are framing this in your CV. Make sure you are being results oriented and have your bullets follow the STAR format. Make sure you are quantifying as much as possible. At the end of the day, the way you present your background to someone who may know almost nothing about you is 70% of the battle.

If you really show the impact that you can make in your CV, I think you have a great shot at moving on in the process.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

You already have a strong and differentiated profile — the mix of medical, sports, research, and startup experience will stand out in the ME region. The key now is less about adding more activities and more about framing what you already have in the right way.

MBB CVs need to be impact-driven, with clear results and business relevance. Right now your CV reads as “a lot of great things,” but to really land interviews you’ll want to:

  • Quantify achievements (e.g., users gained, revenue, rankings, citations).
  • Prioritise and streamline — highlight the 3–4 most powerful areas rather than everything equally.
  • Rephrase bullets in consulting style (action → result → impact).

You don’t need to do more; you need to package it in the right way. A focused CV session would help you refine phrasing and structure so that it matches MBB expectations.

Happy to help you refine and finalise it – feel free to reach out.

Best,

Evelina

Hi there,

You are already covering leadership, execution, and technical skills very well. The biggest unlock for you will be framing and quantification. A recruiter at MBB will not read between the lines, so you need to spell out impact in business terms. Here some advice:

1. Focus on clarity and impact
Consulting CVs are read in less than a minute. Every bullet point should start with a strong action verb and end with a measurable result. For example, instead of writing “launched a startup in MVP phase,” write “launched healthcare startup MVP, attracted X paying users and Y partnerships in first Z months." --> make it tangible

2. Prioritize consulting relevant skills
Recruiters look for evidence of problem solving, leadership, and impact. You can highlight problem solving and analytical ability through your research publications, data projects, and financial modeling. You can demonstrate leadership through captaining the national team and founding initiatives. You can showcase impact and execution through your startup traction and healthcare projects. Everything else, like music and languages, should be kept but in a concise “additional information” section. It adds personality but should not dilute the main story.

3. Tailor for the region and role
For MBB, international exposure, entrepreneurial spirit, and languages are strong differentiators. Make sure your CV clearly signals your fluency in Arabic and English, as this is often a decisive factor for client facing roles in the region.

4. Watch out for laundry list syndrome
Right now, your draft feels like a very impressive collection of achievements. The risk is that it overwhelms the reader without a clear narrative. Organize it into sections such as Education, Professional Experience, Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Research and Publications, and Additional Skills. Within each, keep three to four bullets maximum, each with quantified impact.

5. What to keep developing
The additions you are working on in Python, SQL, and consulting style projects are excellent. Just be careful not to list too many courses. Recruiters value demonstrable output such as “analyzed patient dataset of X entries using Python to identify Y trend” more than certificates. Your family business project could be very powerful if framed like a mini case with problem, approach, and outcome.

I would be happy to review your CV in detail, reframe your bullets into consulting language, and make sure it stands out. Good luck!

Hey there :)

Your profile is already very strong and unique, especially with the mix of medicine, national-level sports, and entrepreneurial work. For MBB in the Middle East, that kind of diverse and international background is highly valued. A few tips to sharpen it:

Try to quantify as much as possible (e.g. “10+ research papers, 3 presented at international conferences with X participants” or “startup MVP with X users / Y partnerships signed”). Numbers make the impact more tangible.

Make sure your CV is structured around impact and achievements, not just activities. Instead of “captained the team,” frame it as “captained the national team, leading X athletes to Y international competition, improving ranking by Z.”

Your additions are good, but keep in mind MBB won’t weigh online courses heavily. What matters more is if you can show applied impact from them (e.g. “analyzed patient data using SQL to identify efficiency improvements”). That’s stronger than just listing certificates.

The consulting-style project on the family business is excellent, that’s the kind of concrete, structured, and business-focused experience they’ll love to see.

In short: you already tick leadership, drive, and uniqueness. The final polish is making everything measurable, business-relevant, and outcome-focused.

best, Alessa :)
