Question about

Cost of downtime

In the calculation, the cost of downtime is 8 shifts / 3 per day - is the 3 per day derived from assuming shifts operate 24 hours a day?

Hi there,

I've spent quite a while trying to figure this out myself, and I'm not entirely sure. Your 24 hours/day, 8 hour shift rationale is the most logical explanation.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about this…this case was confusing even for me - which indicates something!

Hi there,

First of all, kudos on having worked through that case which is indeed a bit irritating.

Complementary to what Ian said, I would advise you not to worry too much about it as your rationale seems to make a lot of sense, especially compared to other considerations.

I hope this helps,

Hagen
