Best Bain Offices in U.S for Healthcare/ Life sciences?

Hi everyone,

Quick background, M.D candidate from a T20 medical school pivoting to management consulting and currently applying for 2024 full-time positions (missed summer programs due to late decision to do consulting). Spoke to a Bain consultant from my city's office and they noted that there are not a lot of healthcare/ LS cases in my region. What are some cities that I should prioritize applying to if I want to work on healthcare/ LS cases? Thank you!

Hi there,

Agreed with Udayan. In particular, New Jersey and Boston are especially well known for life sciences.

Also, ask the Bain consultant! Ask them to put you in touch with people in those offices.

Hello,

Boston tends to be the life sciences hub! Other offices to consider would be NY and SF.

Hi there,

It's always best to aim for the biggest offices because they offer more flexibility. Since they have more partners, they tend to cover a bigger spectrum of topics.

Best,
Cristian

What country are you in? If you’re in the US I would say prioritize New York, New Jersey, Boston and San Francisco. Those offices do all of the life sciences work.
