BCG Singapore compared to BCG London

I'm considering focusing my recruitment efforts for next year on one of the two cities for BCG. Does anyone have any insight into how the offices differ between London and Singapore? I'm looking especially for information on the industries they focus on as well as client type (public/private) but would welcome any other information as well!

Hi there,

One, here's another Q&A on the same topic that might be helpful: https://www.preplounge.com/en/consulting-forum/consulting-in-london-vs-sea-12277

In general, consultancies match the industries of that city/country/region.

The UK is going to have a wide range of industries, particularly Financial Services (diminishing), public sector, tourism, travel, CPG, healthcare, etc.

Singapore you're going to have more in energy/O&G, trading, financial services, tourism/travel

I can only speak from my experience with McKinsey where naturally you will find more variety in London due to the size and diversity of the local/regional economy.  London office is often a hub for talent where you will have a broad access to work across EMEA while in SG, it will be across SEA.  In terms of public sector, you will find such work in both but more quantity and variety in London.

Hi there,

you will have to work hard in both locations, not much of the difference, BCG works in very similar way regardless of where you are. The only difference I can see is that in SGP office you will likely work most of the time abroad while in London a bit more time to be spend in the UK.

Regardless of the BCG you should consider the cultural differences between both places, despite that London as well as Singapore are very multicultural rich countries.

Hello!

At least for McK, Singapore was close to impossible.

The reason is money: super high salaries and close to no taxes: incredible lifestyle and savings!

Cheers,
