Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the (supposed) invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • As far as I know, BCG Real Life has not been used for several years, so I would advise you not to worry about it.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

I wrote an article on it. DM me for the link. :-)

Some questions that have been asked (taken from said article):

  1. Taxi Ride with a Senior Partner: Imagine you're sharing a taxi with a senior partner to an important client meeting. The partner starts discussing the client's issues and asks for your input on the strategy.
  2. Elevator Pitch to a CEO: You find yourself in an elevator with the CEO of a potential client. You have 30 seconds to make an impactful pitch about why your consulting services are invaluable.
  3. Handling a Difficult Client: You're presented with a scenario where a client is resistant to the proposed changes. Your task is to persuade them while addressing their concerns.
  4. Team Conflict Resolution: You're leading a team, and two key members have a disagreement about the project direction. How would you handle this to ensure the project stays on track?
  5. Data Request from a Challenging Colleague: A colleague known for being difficult is withholding crucial data needed for your analysis. Your task is to diplomatically secure this information.

All the best,

Florian

These are basically situational questions, e.g., ‘What would you do if your manager asked at the last minute to take over a presentation that you are unfamiliar with?’

You are meant to explain your thought process and what you would specifically do in that situation.

It's meant to get a sense of how you react in consulting scenarios.

Do reach out if you need help with this. Typically I provide candidates with several prompts and then we go through the situations together, identifying the sort of patterns that interviewers look for.

Best,
Cristian
