For BCG, do you need a 1 sentence story headline checking with the interviewer if this story is ok, before you get into the actual story?

Hello,

It's always useful to have some form of quick story summary so that the interviewer can engage in conversation from early on, but I don't think you need to explicitly ask the interviewer if the story is ok before getting into it. They can jump in with questions or interject you if they need to.

Hi there,

I agree with Sofia - “check” but in a natural way. Give them a summary (not “Let me tell you about a time” or “I have a story about”, but rather “so, I had a situation where”) and give them an opportunity to interject (i.e. pause, or say “happy to give more details if you like”, instead of “Is this story ok?”).

Make sense?

Hi!

That's useful, but I wouldn't expect them to interrupt you unless it's completely irrelevant to the interview.

Best,
