I know cases when this happened, specifically in two situations:
For option #1, I would still recommend informing the person referring you about the previous rejection for transparency, then let them talk to HR to see if there is any option for an earlier application. If that's not the case, you can wait until the end of the ban period.

No, there really isn‘t. Just be patient, improve your CV, and try again after the recommended ban period.

What about if the rejection comes after the Solve game and HR explicitly says that the rejection was mainly due to the Solve performance and not because of the CV?
