I recommend the following:

Remember that most casing tips apply here (i.e. be very clear+focused on the objective, ruthlessly cut out information that doesn't help you meet this objective/question, make sure to thinking + communicate in a structured way, etc. etc.)

Practice/simulate this as much as possible beforehand...getting a coach to help you run through scenarios + how to react in inevitably challenging moments will do a world of good.

I have a number of written case I'd be more than happy to share with you! What I generally do with my candidates is, give them a written case x hours before our scheduled session (adjust # of hours based on the specific interview they're going to have), and then review their work during the session (as well as talk through tips+tricks to get better).

Hi there,

I was in the same position before and was quite worried about the written case interview, but it actually turned out to be my favorite interview format.

From what I've seen, Bain's written case is quite similar in spirit to BCG's. The core challenge is to process a large amount of information under time pressure, perform the necessary analysis, identify the key insights, and synthesize everything into a clear recommendation.

In my experience, I was given around 2 hours in total: about 90 minutes to review the materials, perform calculations, and prepare a 5–6 slide deck answering the client's questions. The final 30 minutes were spent presenting my findings and defending my recommendations in a discussion with the interviewer.

While the exact format may vary by office, the skills being tested are generally the same: structured thinking, data analysis, synthesis, and executive-level communication.

hey there :)

I’d focus on practicing the format rather than collecting too many resources. For Bain’s presentation based case, you mainly want to get comfortable going through a lot of information quickly, identifying the few things that actually matter, and turning them into a clear storyline and recommendation.

Also practice presenting your findings out loud, because the discussion afterwards is usually just as important as the slides themselves. If you can find a few old Bain written cases or presentation cases online, that’s probably the most useful preparation.
