What attributes does the SAC look for in a case interview?

Dear candidate,
Thank you for your question. The answer would obviously depend on several elements, such as seniority, specific vertical (industry specialization) you are applying to etc. Nevertheless, in general you can always be sure SAC requires the following:
Hard skills:
- Basic quant skills such as mental math done orally. Like any case interview, you will be required to conduct some basic math calculation without calculator. It is highly recommended to carry your calculations orally and in a structure way. You interviewer should be able to follow you. Practice with your pet or grand-mother. If even he/she can follow the steps of your calculus, you're good to go!
- Knowledge about the company's verticals. It wouldn't be expected that you have background in the company's industries. However, it will be a big strength if you do a bit of research about the areas in which we do projects. In fact, the case will be from one of our industries so it won't be lost time to explore our verticals a bit more in depth. This shows motivation as well as professionalism.
Soft skills:
- Asking relevant questions and making use of time wisely. You do not have much time, so better select the questions you want to ask :)!
- Motivation / Interest about the company
- This is a classic one, but many people arrive to interviews giving us a "no motivation" feeling.
- Be curious, ask questions!
- Can you convince your interviewer you are worth a 2nd round or just having a beer with?
- Don't restrict the motivation to the "fit" part, you should also demonstrate your motivation in the case part.
- Structuring
- Structure in the way you solve the case, but also in the way you present yourself.
- Listening skills (take notes to make sure you didn't miss any important information)
- Prioritizing what you want to solve first. Again, you do not have much time, you better focus on what is most important (and potentially justify why)
Great and comprehensive answer, Camila! Just to add on this:
Personal fit part in the interview:
- sincere interest and motivation for ADV C
- personal teamfit: authentic, energetic, proactive, open-minded, curious, dedicated, professional, empathetic, helpful
- motivation for personal development (professional and personal)
- emphasize own added value for the team (e.g. special knowledge of methods, special expertise in the area of customer experience)
Case study part in the interview:
- structured and comprehensible approach to solutions
- contribution of creative ideas (e.g. article/blog read on CX management)
- discussion beyond the case (e.g. what does it mean for society, for other industries?)
