Hallo zusammen.
Wie sieht ein typischer Tag im Leben eines Beraters, Senior-Beraters oder Projektleiters aus?
Was ist Ihrer persönlichen Erfahrung nach der Unterschied zwischen interner und externer Beratung?
Danke!

Dear candidate, thank you very much for your questions!
1.What does a typical day in the life of a consultant, senior consultant or project manager look like?
Likely, we don’t have a typical day at ADV C! That would be too boring, don’t you think so? ;)
However, let me explain briefly introduce you to our working dynamic.
As consultants, we are assigned - based on needs and preferences - in different projects. The duration and size of the team differs from one project to another.
In ADV C, the last project I was part of had a duration of 5 weeks. The team would be a Project Manager and myself. Everyday, we would have a daily check-in and check-out call to align and define upcoming tasks. Our day-to-day tasks would differ.
2.In your personal experience, what is the difference between internal and external consulting?
This is a very good question!
As you might know, ADV C has internal and external clients. This means that if you join us, you might experience working with both type of clients.
I have worked as an external consultant for three years and as internal consultant for two months. From my experience, the main difference would be:
- Internal clients can be more open to sharing information since you are “part of the company”.
- As an “external consultant” some information can be kept from you or be more challenging to obtain it.
As mentioned, this is my personal experience – some people might not agree!
I hope these answers clarify your questions!
Kind regards,
Paloma
Dear participant, thank you for your question, which I am also very happy to answer from my point of you!
1.)
Consultant
- contributes ideas and existing knowledge to the team and to customer meetings
- takes on tasks/work packages independently, which are shared within the team
Senior Consultant
- independently leads workstreams and meetings in the project in high contact with the client
- exchanges content with consultants or interns on individual work packages
Project Manager
- sets up processes for the project (team) and controls the project activities
- central contact person for all project-related issues, important interface to the customer and project partners
- strengthens autonomy of consultants and senior consultants, but gets involved when necessary
2.) Since ADV C is not a pure internal consultancy (in some industries already 50% share of external projects) it offers the advantages of both types of consultancy! The biggest differences from my point of view are:
- Duration of the projects
- Collegiality with the clients
- Follow-up orders with the same customer
- appreciation of business development activities
- 1 call away network of experts on solutions and services
- stock market advantages
- diversity of colleagues
- development opportunities (beyond consulting career)
