PWC Khobar Senior Associate recruitment process.

Hi everyone,

I got the email from Pwc middle east for HR interview. After the HR interview, the portal is showing that the application is still in process. Should I wait for the technical round interview or I consider it as a rejection as its been a month now.

Additionally, what type of questions I should prepare for the technical round as I have core assurance (external audit) background.

Has anyone experienced this process who can guide me to pass the technical interview?

Hi Aisha,

A month of silence is not ideal, but it’s also not uncommon for Middle East processes — I wouldn’t assume rejection yet. If your portal still shows “in process,” you’re likely still in the pipeline. At this point, it’s perfectly reasonable to send a polite follow-up to HR to check on status.

For the technical round, coming from an audit background, expect a mix of:

  • Core accounting and audit concepts (IFRS, financial statements, key risks)
  • Practical scenarios (e.g. identifying risks, improving controls, client situations)
  • Some commercial awareness (how audit links to broader business impact)

What they often test is not just technical knowledge, but how you apply it. For example, instead of listing risks, explain why they matter and what you would do about them.

Also be ready for:

  • Client/stakeholder scenarios
  • Questions on handling pressure or deadlines
  • Clear, structured communication

Focus on being practical and structured rather than overly theoretical.

At this stage: follow up with HR, keep preparing, and don’t assume it’s a rejection yet.

Happy to help you prep for the technical round if useful
