How do you avoid going over budget each month?

I know consistency is more important than having a perfect budget. I review my spending regularly, set realistic limits, and adjust as needed instead of trying to stick to a plan that's too strict. I also try to leave a bit of room in my budget for unexpected expenses because something always seems to come up. It's not about being perfect. That approach has helped me stay on track without feeling overwhelmed. What works best for you?

Hi there,

I find it helpful to divide my budget into a few clear categories. Some expenses, like rent, are pretty fixed, while I set a monthly amount for things like groceries and leisure. I also put some money aside regularly for unexpected expenses. That’s especially helpful when something bigger comes up, like a broken washing machine or car repair. And I usually have a separate amount I save for holidays, so I don’t have to take that money from my regular budget when it’s time to travel. It makes it easier for me to keep track of everything without overthinking it.

Best, Rita
