Citi final round

Hi all, I’m heading to Citi’s final round superday and heard to expect a mix of fit questions, brain-teasers , and technical IB questions. Any chance someone could share how they paced the round, or which question types to expect? I’d love to know what to focus on most in the days before. Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

congrats on reaching Citi’s final round! Expect back-to-back 30–45 min interviews with a mix of fit/behavioral, technical IB (valuation, accounting, DCF), and the occasional brain teaser/mental math. Focus on being sharp with technicals and clear with your fit stories.

Good luck!

In Citi’s final round superday, you should expect back-to-back interviews with a mix of fit, technical, and a few brain-teaser style questions, with each interviewer often leaning toward their own style. The fit portion will dig into your motivation for banking, teamwork, and resilience, so have clear, concise stories prepared.

Technicals will likely cover accounting, valuation methods, and basic transaction mechanics, while brain-teasers are more about testing how you think under pressure than getting the exact answer. The pace is usually fast, so focus on staying structured, calm, and confident, showing both technical readiness and strong communication skills.

Congrats on making it to Citi’s final round — that’s already a big milestone. From what I’ve seen and heard, the superday is usually fast-paced with multiple back-to-back interviews. Most of the time goes to fit and core IB technicals (valuation methods, accounting links, DCF assumptions, and basic mental math), with a few brain-teasers mainly to test structured thinking rather than the “right” answer.

In terms of pacing, it helps to stay calm and reset mentally between interviews — each one is a fresh start. In the days before, I’d focus most on tightening fit stories (why Citi, why IB, teamwork under pressure) and being very crisp on technical explanations, rather than trying to memorize edge-case questions.

Clarity, structure, and energy matter just as much as content at this stage. Best of luck — you’re almost there.
