Partner referral and different office after reject

Hi all

I was referred by a Partner for an MBB, without officially applying, got the interviews and did not pass the first round.

Can I interview in another office of the same firm with another referral - as I might not be in the application system?  If not, how long should I wait before going. This route?

Hi,

There is a chance that your information may not be registered with the application system. You can always try to apply with a referral, and worst case you will not be invited for an interview (you have nothing to lose). This may work especially if you are applying in other countries/systems. But when you do this, I suggest that you mention the outcome of your first application to your referral, so that he/she makes a call regarding referring you or not.

If you or your referral decide not to pursue, you need to ideally wait 12-18 months before applying again.

Best,

Deniz

If it is McKinsey it is quite unlikely that you are not in the system as they have a global recruiting and stafing model. The suggested wait time is 2 years

Hi,

I doubt that you are not in the system if you had the interviews and failed. However, if another partner at another office makes you a referral it might work
