Hello everyone,

how would you calculate the numer of surgery made in an year in the US (in numer of units not dollar value)?

Hi,

It's simple:

  1. Split the population by age groups (pls check any case book with sizing cases if you don't know how to do that)
  2. Assign probabilities for each age group to have surgery (Probably higher when you are young and old)
  3. Calculate the number of surgeries per year per each age group dividing by the number of years in the group
  4. Multiply by the number of people in each age group and sum everything up
  5. Make an assumption about additional markets: tourists and patients coming to the US specifically for the surgery
