Hi,

I was wondering what it means to have received the test results to my imbellus test within an hour? - they were positive. I have been approached by McKinsey and have been directly in contact with a McKinsey recruiter from the start. It feels like the outcome of the test they made me take didn't matter or is it possible to get the results that quickly?

Cheers,

Hi there,

I see two possible reasons:

  1. They managed to automate the recruiting flow very well in your office. One of the advantages of the Imbellus is that it allows to judge the results relatively quickly and without human interaction
  2. In some offices, they may still use the Imbellus in testing mode. If that’s the case, they will just use the results internally and they will judge your application based on the CV (and sometimes Cover)

Best,

Francesco

Thanks for the answer. As a note I didn’t apply. They reached out to me.

Hi there,

Francesco is spot on here.

My hunch is that they've actually automated/procedurized the process enough now that, given your scores were very high, they already know they want to interview you. The 2nd option (that it's not currently being used to evaluated/screen) is also possible.

Regardless, you're through to the next round…no need to question a good thing :)

Hello,

If you got your results so quickly, my guess is that it was automated. In any case the test is treated more as a screening tool to select candidates they would like to advance for an interview, but won't have much impact on your application beyond that.

Hey there,

One key advantage for McKinsey since administering the Imbellus is that the results are literally available at the push of a button since the monitoring and evaluation of your product and process score is automated.

For the older PST, recruiters had to check and compare your answer with the answer key.

Hence, it is not surprising to receive the result this quickly. Usually, it takes a little longer due to administrative reasons.

Congrats and all the best going forward!

Cheers,

Florian
