MBB and tier 2 (OW,ATK,RB,S&) review - India

Hello everybody,

Can anybody please share their views on MBB and tier 2 offices in India in terms of project growth, Salary (It sucks in comparison to other offices), perks, types of projects, etc.

From my research, I came to know that tier 2 companies are not that strong in India, and in MBB, Mckinsey and BCG are doing well and Bain is not that strong in comparison to BCG and Mckinsey.

McKinsey is by far the biggest firm in India as they came before everyone else and have been doing work across sectors for longer. They also have the biggest team in India. BCG and Bain are prestigious just like in any other country.

Yes I believe in India T2 firms are just not the same as they are in the US in terms of the work they do. It may be changing over time.

What sort of information are you after?

McKinsey and Bain tend to be particularly strong in India down to provenance. Certain Tier 2 players have tended to have a smaller presence e.g. OW/RB/LEK etc. However the Tier 2 associated with the Big 4 e.g. S&, have benefitted from strong relationship both from the Booz days and PwC

Hey there!

I believe the best thing for you to do is to reach out to people who actually work at T2 in India. Speak to as many of them as you can, and then you will get your perfect insights).

Also if you have any specific questions about McKinsey - write to me, I have a great loaf of experience working there!

Hello!

I personally don´t know about Tier 2, but this info can be found reseraching -even with super simple tools as Google- or networking.

In terms of MBB, McK is by far the strongest.

Hope it helps!
