It seems the PSG is sent to every applicants in some offices?

Hi , I just took the PSG Mckinsey test but I really  believe the test ( depending of the offices) is sent to every applicants applying to the intern position since I received the link literally 2 days after my application. (I applied on the  week-end and received the link on Monday around 11am.) Furthermore, they mentioned in the previous mail that they will review all applications after the "application window", which means in around 2 weeks. Thus, can anybody inform me about that ? I really think things have slightly changed and the test is now sent to everybody.

Cheers!

Hi there, if I understand your question correctly you would like to know whether being invited to take the test is an indication of the strength of your application/profile?

The answer is no.

Considering that you got invited to take the test before your application was even reviewed, as stated in McKinsey's email, means you got invited simply because you applied.

Two cases where this does not apply:

  • Your application is filtered out automatically because your application/profile doesn't comply with some office specific requirements (e.g. language spoken, non-target school, etc.)
  • Your application is very strong and fulfills the criteria of not having to do the PST (e.g. experienced hire & MBA from target school with application through referral)

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

Hi there,

This happened in the past as well for some business schools.

I know that last year at INSEAD all applicants received the link in one of the recruiting windows, while the CV screening was done later. It could well be that they are changing things to use the test as screening before the CV check to automate more the recruiting inflow.

For those who still have to prepare, you can find a complete video simulation + guide covering all the possible 5 games at the link below (full disclosure - I am the author;) ):

Hi there,

I'm not sure what you think has changed :). For a while now, the PSG has been sent to almost all candidates. It's rare that you are able to skip the test.

In terms of the application window, this depends on the channel through which you are recruiting (i.e. via school, as an experienced/external hire, etc.).
