How many diggers are there in the UK ?

I'm very confused as to where to start for this? By diggers I mean (yellow tractors/heavy machinery)?

Segment UK area into cities / rural
Calculate the number of active digging per 1km in both based on personal experience / observations.
Calculate each segment
Assume some utilization rate (e.g. there are diggers that are idle)
