Experienced Hire from Clients

Hi there

I know that many consultants leave consulting and start working for their previous clients. However, how is it the other way around? Do consultancies hire from their clients? Or is it considered a no-go? (because consultancies fear that their client is offended by this and gives no business anymore)

Thanks!

Hey anonymous,

yes they hire, but at least in McKinsey you need to disclose with the client that you’re undergoing through the recruiting process - you can’t do the interview process without such disclosure
