Digital Healthcare Consulting

Hello everyone

I am applying for position at PWC. They are specialists in digital healthcare consulting. Their main focus is:

  1. reducing cost in health it
  2. come up with new digital healthcare solutions / strategies
  3. evaluating clinical information systems
  4. implementing management information systems
  5. implementing controlling tools for the hospital it infrastructure

Since a lot of cases are not in this industry I do find it very hard to find cases that would suit this industry sector. Has anyone any ideas how I should prepare for my case interview?

Any input is highly welcome. Many thanks!

Hey,

I now work in the Healthcare industry and am very familiar with PwC's recruitment process too. I don't have any direct cases but happy to knowledge share and help refine your approach, frameworks etc. Feel free to send me a direct message and we can take it from there.

Many thanks Adi. I am familiar with PWC's process (it's on their website). It was more regarding the case structure in digital health.

Hi there,

I'm actually in the midst of creating a case exactly in this space! (A healthcare insurance + provider company looking to buy a wearables company).

In terms of preparing, I agree it's tough where niche topics/industries are involved. Quite honestly, the best approach is to get a coach who has trained people in that area (I've personally worked extensively with candidates recruiting a Merk, Clearview, LEK Life Sciences, etc.) as they have a repretoire of both cases and prompts for discussion.

Aside from that, your best bet is scouring casebooks, online resources, and trying to partner with other candidates recruiting in the same area.

Some cases I like are  Botox (Stern), Regional Health Plan (Tepper), and Pharma Rare Disease (BCG)

Also, don't forget to read BCG and McKinsey Insights! Specifically their sections on Healthcare/Life Sciences.

Good luck!

Hi!

I believe you could learn a lot by practicing “general” cases!

If you want to dig deeper into the digital / healthcare space, I recommend going through the main case guides (e.g. Harvard, LBS, etc.) and select the most relevant ones.

Also, reach out to people who are currently working in that area. They might give you additional information and resources.

Best,

Anto

Many thanks for your support! I have a follow up question: I could not find those "general" cases since they are split up in categories like entry new market etc. Furthermore I did not find the Harvard, LBC cases. If you could guide me through the case library menu I'd highly appreciate it.
