BCG Platinion Interview Timeline

Hello! I’m currently interviewing with BCG Platinion for a Senior Consultant role in the Tech, Advisory and Delivery capability. I’m coming from a big 4 firm with 5.5 years of experience working with the same federal client doing IT Portfolio Management, EA, IT Governance, EPLC, custom software delivery, and enterprise strategy/analysis.

I completed my first interview yesterday, which was an “Introduction” interview with a Principal. The questions were entirely fit and behavioral, and I thought it went well enough. I followed back up with the recruiter after the interview to say thanks and that I was looking forward to next steps. She said she’d be in touch with feedback as soon as possible.

My questions are:

When can I expect the second interview of the first round to be scheduled?

Do you have any other advice or insight for me in my current situation?

From the round 0 call with the recruiter, my understanding is that the next interview and end of round 1 is a live case solving. Round 2 begins with a case deck presentation and concludes with a “coffee chat” with a local PPMD. For no reason in particular, I assumed interviews would be scheduled on consecutive days (or two), at least within the same round.

I’m really excited for this opportunity as I think it’s a perfect fit for me given my experience, but I’m anxious that I’m unfamiliar with the BCGP TAD process and want to make sure I’m doing everything within my power to excel at each interview.

Hi,

  • Second interviews at BCG Platinion are typically scheduled within 5–10 business days after the first, depending on recruiter coordination and interviewer availability. It’s normal if interviews in the same round aren’t on consecutive days.
  • You’re well-positioned given your experience, focus now on sharpening your case interview skills, especially for tech-driven scenarios (e.g. IT strategy, architecture trade-offs, delivery risks), and practice presenting insights concisely for the deck-based case in Round 2.

Happy to help review case structures or simulate a tech case if you'd like! Best of luck!

Hi,

1) It's normal the interview in a same round is not on the same day. The difference between both interviews can take up to 2 weeks based on my experience.

2) Focus on improving your case interview skills (e.g., frameworking, top down communication)

Let me know if you want to practice real cases used at BCG Platinion.
