Welcome! My name is Joel, I have a background in engineering and finance. My consulting journey started here on Preplounge a few years ago. Since then, I successfully passed 10 out of 10 consulting interviews, received 3 offers, and had the luxury to choose my target firm. I now work at Kearney and actively support recruiting efforts as I conduct phone screenings, case coaching, and interviews to candidates. Also, I am the author of "Market Sizing Like a Pro", available in the Preplounge store, which shows how passionate I am when it comes to consulting and solving cases. To date, I have given over 250+ cases and mentored numerous candidates throughout their preparation journey. I would be really happy to extend the same level of support to you!
I firmly believe I can transform a person from being unfamiliar with consulting to being interview-ready within one month of hard work. Here is how I approach it:
· If you are a new candidate, I would start by giving you a presentation that I personally developed to introduce you to the consulting world and set the foundation for a successful prep. I may give you some homework to accelerate your learning process.
· Once you have mastered the basics, I'll guide you through your first mock case. It will be more of a discussion than a formal interview simulation. Here’s how it will work: for each question I ask, you'll have the opportunity to answer first. Then, I'll provide feedback on your answer, share my approach, and explain how I would have handled the question if I were in your position.
· As you gain confidence and skills, I will be giving progressively more challenging cases covering various types (i.e., profitability, business situations, market sizing, etc.) and industries (i.e., energy, finance, consumer staples,etc.). We don’t want any surprise on interview day!
Quant is one of the most tested parts of a case interview, yet it is the area where candidates struggle the most. Quant is not just about doing the math correctly: it is about structuring your thinking, staying composed under stress and push back, clearly explaining your calculations, and turning final results into valuable insights.
