Hi, do we have any coaches with experience in written cases in the Environmental tech space that can help with an interview prep?
Written cases in sustainability / tech space?
Yes — I can definitely help with the preparation for this type of interview.
What I can support with is:
- what to expect from a written case
- how to approach it under time pressure
- how to structure your analysis and recommendation
- how to present it clearly and confidently
- mock practice on similar exercises
What I would not do is help solve the actual case from your live / written interview process, as that wouldn’t be appropriate.
But if your goal is to prepare properly and go in with a solid approach, I’d be happy to support.
hey there :)
yes, for written cases in sustainability/tech the key is to be very structured and hypothesis-driven while bringing in a bit of industry context. typically you’ll want to quickly frame the problem, lay out 2–3 angles like market, economics, and impact, and then synthesize into a clear recommendation with trade-offs.
you can mention in prep that you’re comfortable linking business impact with sustainability metrics, like cost, scalability, and CO2 reduction, since that’s often what they test. also practice writing concise slides or a 1-page memo, clarity matters more than depth.
best,
Alessa :)
Yes, do reach out for an intro call.

Environmental tech written cases are niche but more common now with energy transition and ESG practices growing.
Expect three typical flavours. Market entry or sizing for a clean-tech product. Profitability for a renewables, EV, or circular economy player. Strategic recommendation for a corporate on net-zero or energy transition.
What's different. Sector terminology matters. Get comfortable with LCOE, scope 1/2/3, carbon credits, capex/opex profiles, and policy levers.
To prep, read public consulting reports on energy transition, practise sector sizing problems, and use energy or industrials cases as substitutes. Look on PrepLounge for coaches tagged energy or sustainability.
Good luck.
