Where can I find good GMAT-style data interpretation practice for consulting assessments?

I’m preparing for consulting applications, and everyone keeps recommending GMAT-style data interpretation practice. I’m struggling to find good, realistic material, and I’d love to hear what worked for you.

  • Which resources did you find most useful?
  • Is GMAT Data Insights the right proxy, or should I focus on SHL-style numerical reasoning or firm-specific online assessments?
  • How did you approach timing, and how much practice felt like enough?

Any recommendations, whether question banks, websites, or study approaches, would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Hey,

If you are targeting MBB consulting roles, particularly in the UK:

First, it is important to understand that standard GMAT-style data interpretation or generic numerical reasoning practice is useful, but it does not fully replicate the complexity and cognitive load of assessments like e.g. the McKinsey Solve. Focus on resources that test not only your ability to interpret data but also your prioritization, functioning, and ability to balance competing objectives under severe time pressure.

Your preparation should focus on simulating the pressure and format of the real assessments as closely as possible (use peers, coaches etc.)

And do not forget to make it into the process first - with an outstanding CV (too many people prepare cases without an invitation)
