When to take into consideration growth rate for market sizing

Hi PL, may I please know if it is advisable to take into consideration growth rate during market sizing? If so, under what circumstances should we incorporate this? Thank you

Hi there,

Great Q - you need to take it into account if we're market sizing outside of one year. That's why it's important to ask clarifying questions before jumping into the market sizing.

Figure out if it's an annual market size or all total possible sales. More likely than not, it will just be annual :)

This depends on whether the interviewer explicitly states what time period to market size for. Generally if the question is only to size the market, probably not necessary to consider growth rates. Although, mentioning so could be a good insightful comment to make in addition to the size.
