Hey,
as a first-year at a place like Evercore, your day-to-day will be a mix of financial modeling, PowerPoint (lots of it), research, and process work.

You’ll likely be:

  • Building and updating models (DCF, comps, LBOs depending on the deal)
  • Creating pitch decks and client materials
  • Supporting live deals (running data rooms, drafting CIMs, buyer lists, etc.)
  • Joining internal calls and occasionally sitting in on client ones

Hope that helps!

Hey there,

as Rita already mentioned, as a first-year analyst at an elite boutique like Evercore, you’ll be doing a mix of financial modeling, creating pitch decks, and supporting live deals. You’ll likely be building and updating models, helping with client materials, and assisting with tasks like running data rooms. It’s a lot of work, but a great opportunity to learn quickly.

I wish you much success and let me know if you need any support with your preparation!

Hey there!

A first-year analyst at Evercore mainly focuses on building financial models, preparing pitch books, and conducting research to support deals. They handle valuation work and assist with due diligence by organizing data and summarizing findings. Though the hours are long and attention to detail is crucial, analysts often get early exposure to live deals and close interaction with senior bankers, which accelerates their learning and experience.
