Hi there,

Yes, I’ve worked with candidates who interviewed at Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo, and similar platforms. The cases they use are usually less about market entry or M&A (like in consulting) and more about practical problem-solving in operations. You can expect topics such as:

  • Supply & demand balancing: e.g. how to reduce driver shortages in peak hours or improve delivery times.
  • Operational efficiency: route optimization, reducing cancellations, cutting idle time.
  • Growth levers: expanding into a new city, acquiring more riders/drivers/restaurants cost-effectively.
  • Unit economics: thinking through contribution margin per ride/delivery, driver incentives, and pricing.
  • Service quality: ensuring customer satisfaction while keeping costs under control.

They’ll test if you can break down an ambiguous operational challenge into clear drivers, size impact with back-of-the-envelope math, and propose actionable recommendations.

Happy to help you prep – feel free to reach out.

Best,
Evelina

Hi there,

One of the cases I used when interviewing for McKinsey was a Food Delivery case. I'd be happy to chat with you about such cases in general, in case you have any specific questions - feel free to message me.

Sincerely,

Thor

Hi,

yes, those cases are usually very operations-focused. Expect topics like driver/rider matching efficiency, reducing delivery times, optimizing supply vs. demand in peak hours, or improving unit economics (e.g. contribution margin per order). They may also touch on geographic expansion or incentive design. Structuring around process efficiency, capacity utilization, and cost vs. service trade-offs usually works well.

best, Alessa :)

Hi,

I have experience in this area:

  1. Supported candidates who have interviewed with Uber/Lyft in the US
  2. Conducted a due diligence on ride-hailing/food delivery tech company
  3. Interviewed myself with ride-hailing/food delivery tech company

In general, expect the cases to be very specific to the actual business problem, but not as 'structured' as a typical consulting case interview (i.e. you may not always get a chart, brainstorming question etc).
