Hi there,

Re the interview format, it's best if you ask the recruiter directly since these tend to differ a lot from office to office, sometimes even within the same firm.

Re A&M more generally, I've heard wonderful things and have had candidates interviewing with them.

If you need any help, reach out for a quick intro call.

Best,
Cristian

Congrats on the A&M invite.  A&M is well-respected globally, especially for performance improvement, restructuring, and turnarounds. Strong in distressed and underperforming situations. In Australia, smaller footprint than MBB or Big 4 but solid in Sydney and Melbourne.

What PI actually does. Cost reduction, operational turnaround, working capital, supply chain fixes, org redesign. Practical, roll-up-the-sleeves work. Less pure strategy.

Likely interview content.

  • Fit. Why A&M, why PI, why consulting. Have specific reasons. They want operators who deliver, not just analysts.
  • Case. Expect operational and PI-flavoured cases. Cost reduction, process optimisation, turnaround diagnostics. Less abstract market sizing.
  • Technical. Basic financial literacy, P&L, working capital, cost categories. Know how to read a P&L and spot cost levers.

How to prep. Run 5 to 7 PI cases. Read A&M's recent restructuring content.

Good luck.
