Strategy& Dubai Interview Process

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what the interview process is like for Strategy& Dubai? I’m particularly interested in understanding:

  • The number of interview rounds
  • Duration of each round
  • How the interviews are typically split between fit and business case
  • Whether the interviews are conducted by managers, directors, or partners

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Best regards,

Hello!!

For Strategy& Dubai, the standard process is 2 rounds, each with 2 interviews, 4 interviews in total.

  • Round 1 → with Managers or Principals, mix of fit and business case.
  • Round 2 (Final) → with Partners, also fit + business case.

Each interview lasts about 45–60 minutes:

  • 10–15 min fit/behavioral
  • 25–30 min case
  • 5–10 min for your questions

Fit is very important at Strategy& and they’ll dig into leadership, impact, and cultural fit as much as your problem-solving. Cases often focus on market sizing, market entry, competitive positioning… similarly to MBB

Occasionally, there’s a third round if they want more clarity on your fit answers, but that’s not the norm.

Good luck!!!

Hi there,

I see Julia already provided a good breakdown below.

I'd encourage you though to have this conversation directly with the recruiters. They are the ones who set the rules, so to say, and who also change them sometimes. The interview process doesn't only depend on the location and the firm, but also the role, and even then it sometimes changes. So, just to be sure, ask the recruiter for a 10-minute call to walk you through the process.

Best,
Cristian

For Strategy& Dubai, the process is fairly consistent but can vary slightly by practice area and role level. Typical structure:

1. Rounds & Timeline

  • Usually 2–3 rounds in total.
  • Round 1 often with Managers/Senior Associates, Round 2 with Directors/Partners. Occasionally a short HR screen beforehand.
  • Each round typically includes 2 back-to-back interviews (so 4–6 total across the process).

2. Interview Format

  • 60–70% case, 30–40% fit/behavioral — though partners may lean more into conversational fit and strategic thinking.
  • Cases can be qualitative and Middle East–specific (transformation, diversification, public sector reform) with some quantitative elements.
  • Fit questions probe both your motivation for Strategy& and your understanding of the GCC market.

3. Duration

  • Each interview: 45–60 minutes.
  • Case portion: 25–35 min; Fit/behavioral: 10–20 min.

4. Interviewers

  • Early rounds: Managers/Senior Managers.
  • Later rounds: Directors/Partners.
  • Final partner round can be more about cultural fit, strategic perspective, and sell

Tips:

  • Be ready for less structured, “Vision 2030”-type cases — they test your ability to build structure from scratch.
  • Know key regional trends (energy transition, tourism, logistics, digital transformation).
  • Show strong motivation for the Middle East market, not just consulting in general.

In my experience, getting a strong referral from a principal and above can accelerate you to the 2nd round, where you are interviewed by 3 partners for the practice you indicated interest in.

I did the interview in New York, and the head of the practice came to me after the interview is done and told me I got the offer. Feel free to book a session and we can discuss more on a strategy to secure a strong referral :)

hi!

For Strategy& Dubai, you can typically expect two rounds. Each round is around an hour per interview, split between fit and a business case. First round is usually with managers or senior associates, second round with directors or partners. The fit part is often shorter than MBB but still important, and cases tend to be more practical and region-specific.

best, Alessa :)
