Solve game results

Hi everyone,

I completed the McKinsey Solve assessment a little more than two weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. I was wondering when it is generally considered appropriate to reach out to HR or recruiting to ask about the status of the results.

For those who have been through the process recently, how long did it take for you to receive feedback, and when did you decide to follow up?

Thanks in advance!

Usually they come back relatively quickly.

Given that it's already been more than two weeks in your case, it's perfectly reasonable to follow up with recruiting. There is no strict rule on when you can reach out. As long as your email is polite and constructive, you're not doing anything wrong.

I would send a short note thanking them for the opportunity, confirming your continued interest, and asking whether they can share any update or expected timeline for the next steps.

Good luck!

hi!

Most candidates hear back in 1–3 weeks. The Solve is auto‑scored, but the decision depends on recruiter bandwidth and interview‑slot availability. Delays don’t signal anything about your performance.

The clean rule candidates use:

• after 10–14 days, it’s completely fine to send a short, polite follow‑up

• it won’t hurt your chances or look impatient

• recruiters expect it, especially in busy cycles

A simple message works: “I wanted to kindly check whether there are any updates on my Solve assessment and next steps.”

Hi there,

As you might expect, it varies a lot.

But typically, if you haven't heard back within a month, then it's worth sending a polite reminder / follow-up. For now though, I would just focus on developing other applications.

Best,
Cristian
