Should I bring up a second bachelor's degree in the behavioral interview?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, but later decided to pursue a second bachelor’s in Economics. For an upcoming consulting interview, I was told that interviewers will not see my CV beforehand.

My architecture degree is not currently on my CV, as I have focused it on my more recent economics studies and extracurriculars. I also do not have internship experience yet, which makes me slightly concerned that mentioning the architecture degree could raise questions about my non-linear path or make me seem unfocused.

When asked “tell me about yourself,” would you recommend briefly mentioning the architecture background and framing the transition into economics/consulting, or focusing only on my current economics profile? I would appreciate advice on how to present this in a clear and positive way.

Hi there,

It's non-consequential.

If you do mention the degree, I doubt they'll assume that you're 'unfocused'. Everybody's life is different, and they have different motivations for the objectives they pursue. Sharing those is what makes you feel human and easier to connect with in the interview, so I wouldn't worry about them. Still, if you feel uncomfortable about that, feel free not to bring it up proactively.

Best,
Cristian
