Should I Apply in This September or wait

Hi everyone
I started my internship in a tier 2 consulting company in January 2024 and I obtained the full time offer in June.
So is it make sense to start applying to all consulting companies in September?
This September I will be in my current as FTE only 4 months but with my internship it will be almost 9 months.
Or should I wait until September 2025 and have 1.5 FTE experience?

Hi there,

Both would work and it depends solely on your preferences!

If you want to make the move to MBB, I would wait a bit and apply next year.

Cheers,

I'd rather wait a bit.

However, note that to start in September you have to apply a bit earlier.

Hi there,

If you only have 4 months of Tier 2 full time experience at the time of MBB application, it doesn’t really give you an edge compared to applicants fresh out of undergrad who might also have consulting internships. So if you want to leverage your job experience, get some more of that under your belt before you apply to MBB - assuming that MBB is your midterm goal.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the offer from your current employer!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • Obviously, both options are feasible. What matters is your preference regarding whether you see yourself working for your current employer for a couple of years or not.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,
