Reveal or conceal existing offer from MBB competitor?

Running multiple interview processes

Hi all,

I read of someone suggesting to let the company know you are running interviews with other firms, even let them know you already have another offer because this could speed up the process.

Suppose you have an offer from company X, how would you answer company Y asking "why Y if you have already secured an offer from a competitor?"

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Hi Lorenzo,

the reason is that you are a thoughtful person who makes informed decisions from a solid base of information and facts. The main purpose of interviews for you is to learn about the firms you are applying to and to do your due dilligence on whether a given firm provides the best fit with your goals and objectives. Not doing anymore interviews after receiving an offer would not be a very smart approach.

That's it! And this is what I would tell the interviewer. It demnonstrates that you compile all necessary facts before rushing to a conclusion.

Cheers, Sidi
