Reply from Partner - MBB

Hi everyone,

I had posted a question regarding the rejection email last week. Finally, I found the solution and need your guidance in order to analyze the situation.

I have attended several events and reached out to a partner after that event in that office who was also a panel member in that event and got the below-mentioned reply from a partner:

Hi XXX,

Thank you for letting me know - I have been in touch with our recruiting team to make sure we avoid any confusion.

My questions are below:

1 - A partner in the US office has referred my CV to the European office. After the event, I reached out to the partner who was in the panel and told him that I have been already referred by the US office. Telling a partner that partner in another office has referred me is a bad sign?

2 - I have not received any email from the HR team but got the reply from this partner. Do I still need to follow up with HR or it is ok not to follow up as I have got the reply from the partner who is involved in recruiting.

The confusion was big so just want to make sure I do not get rejected.

Hi there,

If you could link your prior question, that would be helpful, but I believe I remember it.

The Partner's answer is vague, but I'm sure that's because they don't really know what's going on (they don't have time to sort these things out).

You should wait for a response from HR, but if they don't respond this week, feel free to call next week - there's no downside risk at this point even though it seems to me like you have indeed been rejected.
