Hi, I am lucky enough to have been extended multiple offers from great firms. I wanted to ask whether rejecting offers from firms necessarily means that I'd be burning bridges with them; i.e. would not be able to work with them in the future?

you don't have to worry about burning bridges. As long as you stay polite, respectful and honest about your decision this will never go against you, as the big firms understand this is a competitive market - they won't hold grudges.
In my consulting tenure, I had personally experienced 2 colleagues initially rejected the firms offer, only to join years later. Hence, rest assured that the door will not be closed (while you may have to re-do the recruiting process at a later point).

No, not at all. I'd still be super happy if some of the candidates that decided for something else would come back to me and ask for the job offer again :)
That is fine, as long as you are not playing games and are professional (and that don't waste their time on useless negotiations or crazy demands to take the job… and then reject it).

You can only accept one offer and that's just a fact, nothing personal between you and the firms. Your genuine regret about this is exactly what you need to transmit when you ring them up to politely decline.

Not at all. Just be polite about refusing their offer, be honest and transparent in telling them you decided to go for another firm and express your gratitude for the opportunity of interviewing with them.
Don't worry - it won't make them angry. If anything, it will make them reflect on why you chose to go a different way.

very well done. It is not a problem at all. Be open and appreciative and explain that you have decided to take another offer in consulting, so they are aware that you are staying in the industry. You would be able to work for these firms later, should you ever want to switch firms.
