Hey!

In strategy consulting, they generally refer to the same role, but the title varies by firm. At McKinsey, it's called Engagement Manager, while at BCG, it's known as Project Lead. Both roles involve leading client projects, managing teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic solutions, with a focus on client satisfaction and project outcomes.

Hi there,

These are just different names for (mostly) the same roles and responsibilities. What is the background to your question?

Hi there,

This is purely a difference in naming conventions across firms.

There are EMs, project managers, project leads, managers, etc. across firms and its always referring to the same role!

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

I can concur with the others. Individual firms give individual names to the same roles. Project manager, engagement manager, case manager, project leader - it's all essentially synonymous.
